The same reason there were kids running around pulling for Miami and Florida State for a long time. The same reason we'll see a spike in kids that pull for Alabama. USC had a national appeal under Pete Carroll. You couple that with the "Hollywood image" and they're still living off of it.

His brother was a USC fan, so that's why he likes them as well.
