Lets see who benefits from further expansion:
1) TV fat cats
2) University administration fat cats
Lets see who gets the shaft from further expanion:
1) The student athletes
2) Student body
3) Fans
4) Coaches
5) Tradition
What good does it do John Doe, the every day fan to have a new TV market.
Will his team win more? No.
Will tickets to his favorite team's home games get cheaper? No.
Will the University President who gets a 100k raise chip in some gas money so that he can drive halfway across the country to watch a conference game? No
Will his cable bill get cheaper? No
I could go on and on.
Tell me why any fan would ever support continued expansion of the conference?

How do any of the people listed get the shaft?
You just don't want it because then it would be impossible for the gumps to schedule cupcakes every year. You'd have to play the good teams of the East.
We all know that you guys favor the easiest road to the championship as possible so your opposition is expected.

And your subject could get this thread anchored.
Just saying.

I was happy with the 12 team conference. Adding two more teams wasn't needed. Adding any more teams is definitely not necessary.

You really think one shite is given about what fans think or want?
You are not worthy of being entrusted with such a decision.
Don't come around these parts anymore

So we just leave UM in the East?

Failed with use of idiots. Change subject or expect to not be taken seriously. FYI, I am no idiot.

I despise the expansion. schools in Texas or Yankee states have no business being in the Southeastern Conference. might as well invite University of Southern California or University of Hawaii.

Expanding just to expand would be silly. Unless they can get some of the traditional powers in more than one sport I'm against it

Please tell me how unc would not benefit usc fans...rival and close game. In fact every fanbase not named bama aubie tenn or uga would not see a major shift from expansion

I've always thought that expansion can reach a point where it's counter productive. The point of expansion is to get more money. More money leads to better resources which will ultimately lead to wins. However, if expansion means making your schedule tougher, then is there really a huge benefit?
For the big schools its one thing, but for the middle to lower tier schools (MSU, OM, etc,) I don't see the benefit. Their road to a championship just got tougher.

So you're in favor of playing teams only once every six years, but once every eight years would just be too much, huh?
Makes sense.

The problem is how they expand. If all we cared about what a fit in the SEC and not TV market it would be great to have a Texas or an OU or a FSU.
