The contract with USC was never completed, it was announced at the same time as the Oregon game by Byrne.

After Byrne made the announcement, USC decided not to sign the contract, so essentially the USC game was never scheduled.

There was a line in the Oregon contract that stated something along the lines that either team could back out if there was a conference change made by either team.
