well in theory yes, but in reality no more than Vanderbilt vs Alabama

Georgia State will be the hardest game and the most indicative game as far as NC implications. In fact, weren't they the team that scored the most points on Alabama all year.
Tennessee will be good again. Until then though, scheduling whining will be strong within the confines of the golden boot.

Alabama fans think way too highly of themselves.
Such a clever ruse... Just another reason why this board is unbearable now.

I know it means a lot to Bama and UT, but it really doean't rate very high on a national scale at all. Neither does Aub vs Uga. If your asked people in another region of the country besides the SE, they probably wouldn't know either of them were rivalries.

The team that's won this game has won 3 of the last 4 national titles.

this is hard for many SEC folks to believe but true for a lot of the country IMO
people from the 90s knew about florida/tennessee because of the storyline (manning can't beat florida) but rarely do people from other parts of the country think UT/Bama and Auburn/UGA are important or rivalry games... mostly because recently there haven't been the prime time games where both teams are competing for a NC late in the season (something to make non-football fans sit up and take notice)

Did you know...?
The UT/USCe game had higher ratings than the UA/UT game last year.
The LSU/Arky game had higher ratings than the UA/UT game last year.
Newsflash: EVERY game on a title contender's schedule has 'national title implications'. Yes, even Alabama's game against State had 'national title implications'. Good thing no one wants to take away that rivalry with State from the Tide - after all, Alabama's played State more than any other team. Talk about a historic rivalry.
