I'm not saying I don't value rivalries, I just don't see any way in which they can coexist with a schedule rotation that is as fair to everyone as it can be. To me that has to be your priority in any sporting endeavor.
I don't think that there is some kind of conspiracy or anything, but doesn't the appearance bother you? You can't tell me that if the situations were reversed there wouldn't be a lot of your fans upset like they were about the bye week situation.
The only thing that could maybe make everyone happy is to do away with divisions and give everyone 2 permanents and 6 rotationals.

How does doing away with divisions solve any of the inequity of permanent opponents?
Please explain.
In my opinion, keeping divisions and not counting the single permanent non-divisional game for division titles is the only way that solves everything.
