Then who do you want? UTK went after a head coach from CSF, and that hasn't worked out too well so far. Vandy and UF both took assistants from Clemson, and UF has made a finals appearance and Vandy has been downright-dominant this year.

A UGA baseball fan has to be somewhat realistic about what is out there, and what they can attract given the poor facilities and historically mediocre fan support. I think an assistant from a relatively successful program that is already in the SEC is a pretty good start.

I would take the list below, start at the top & work my way down... An asistant coach would be my final play. Me personally, I want Monte Lee from CofC... There are several Mid-Major Coaches who would be a great fit in Athens...

Article from Baseball America's Aaron Fitt...

If Georgia wants to make a major financial commitment, it might start by approaching some of college baseball’s most successful established head coaches, like Louisville’s Dan McDonnell, Virginia’s Brian O’Connor, TCU’s Jim Schlossnagle or Kent State’s Scott Stricklin. None of those coaches would be an easy hire, but Georgia has the resources to shoot for the moon...

Mid-major head coaches like South Alabama’s Mark Calvi, UCF’s Terry Rooney, Samford’s Casey Dunn, Mercer’s Craig Gibson, Illinois State’s Mark Kingston or College of Charleston’s Monte Lee could also make intriguing targets.
