1. Watson - Franchise QB with Cam Newton athleticism
No, no he is not. He's more of a polished passer but he doesn't have Cam's athleticism. To me he looks like Randall Cunningham 2.0 which is an incredible compliment to the young man, but not on Cam's level.

Love Watson, but no. He's definitely a much superior passer at this point though

Yea probably should've said something like "a Cam Newton skill set". With his size, mobility (not Cam's but still damn good) and passing ability (far superior to Cam's at this point) he has the potential to be the closest thing to him since he left.

Morris saw this kid as a rising sophomore and said he could be as good as Newton. If we sign this kid I will fap to I get rugburn.

Carter is all athleticism and potential. Not enough immediate impact skill to be #1 IMO

He still has his senior year. Coming off his Jr year, that is all Carl Lawson really was too and he came a long way in that single offseason and Sr year.

Fournette is #1 to me.

I'd personally have Carter ahead of Hand and also the DT from VA, Brown. I think Hand is a very good prospect but don't see the pure dominant player that should be #1 in the class, especially when there are a few kids ranked below him that do have that dominant player look.

The argument about position importance is a great one and in most years that would push me towards the DL guy because DL are much more important but Fournette is a once a decade talent at his position and none of the DL really blow you away like last year's group did or like Clowney.

On Watson, I don't see the Cam Newton comparison. For one Watson is much more advanced passer at this stage and not nearly the power runner that Cam is. I understand that all future dual threats are gonna be compared to Cam but that's ridiculous. Very few, if any, QBs have had the power running skillset that Cam has. Different level and type of runner than most dual threats. Watson would be the top QB in the class if I were ranking them. Kid is special and Clemson did a great job locking him up very, very early and doing what it takes to hold on to him even with the huge press by Urban at OSU.

I keep reading this, but guys like Bryce Brown, Trent Richardson, Marcus Lattimore were all top 5 national recruits and pure studs in high school with skills equal to or better than fournette at that level.

It's impressive that he's been doing it since he was a freshman, but that doesn't necessarily mean he was better as a senior prospect.

Honestly, the top ten every year should be only given to OL/DL and QBs here and there. Those positions are the most important and a high end DL > a high end RB.

Or you could rank each player with a grading system and go by that.

Just kidding I mean that would be logical, frick that .

This year, it seems that the websites disagree on that.

ESPN and Scout have Leonard Fournette as Number 1.
247 and Rivals have Da'Shawn Hand as Number 1.

Well Scout and ESPN are terrible recruiting services, so I'll go with Hand.

I honestly believe Leonards the type of talent that can take over games and win them damn near single handily ala AP, McFadden, Ingram etc.

Go watch the South Carolina game. Also Ingram has more hardware than your school.

You must not have played attention in 2009 when he was our entire offense. Google 2009 USC vs Alabama. Without Ingram we don't win the title in 2009 or his performance in the BCS title game as well. Our running game stopped when he went out the end of the first half against Texas.

I'm going to say the 6'1", 205 Cornerback [that happens to also play a little RB in high school] with 4.3x and 10.4-10.5 speed in the 100m dash.....with the physique of an NFL DB.

Jabrill Peppers 2012 Junior Highlights

Comparison to Patrick Peterson as a 12th grader..

Speed:
Peterson 100m- 10.92, 200m- 22.24 (in 12th grade)
Peppers 100m- 10.50, 200m- 21.37 (in 11th grade)

Size:
Peterson: 6'1", 193 (in 12th grade)
Peppers: 6'1", 205 (in 11th grade)

Peppers has more impressive measureables as an 11th grader than Peterson had as a 12th grader. Imagine the above numbers for Peppers in 1 year if he stays healthy and continues to work hard

Yea I don't love the Newton comparison either, but that's just what the Clemson coaches see. His size, especially if he fills out, is likely where it comes from. The kid is legit huge with plenty of room to add more.

I think he'll be somewhere of a cross between Teddy Bridgewater and Darron Thomas. He's a better passer than Teddy was at this stage and a better runner than Thomas was at this stage.

This kid could be epic.

Well I am biased so I would pick Leonard Fournette. The other option I would pick is Da'Shawn Hand. Both players will be good.
