Which team of the SEC run would fare best against the 2001 Canes

Regarded as one of the most stacked teams in history with backups who would shine in the NFL, this team ran the table and made mince meat out of #2 Nebraska. One of my good buddies was at "da U" for this run and often brags about how they're the best team ever.
They were untouchable.... until you look at their shitty Big East schedule and 0 wins vs top 10 opponents until the title game. Heck, only one of their regular season opponents finished with 10 wins, #14 Syracuse. Their BCS #2 foe lost to Colorado and dropped to #4 in the AP, but the BCS put them with Miami. Yes, their roster was stacked, but now a days people are lifting it to mythic proportions based on their NFL exploits. I call bull. The 2004 Auburn team could have played the exact same opponents and finished undefeated. And anyone who was paying close attention to football during 2001 (I was like 14) please add your 2 cents.
2001 "U" season highlights
beating Penn State in Happy Valley (PSU would finish 5-6)
beating #14 FSU in the Doak, (FSU would finish 8-4)
beating #12 Syracuse at home (the Orange would end with 10 wins so finally a quality W).
beating #14 Va Tech in Lane Stadium (VT would finish 8-4)
ROSTER highlights
Ken Dorsey, Clinton Portis, Jeremy Shockey, Frank Gore, Willis McGahee, Ed Reed, Sean Taylor, Bryant McKinnie.
2 consensus All-American (Dorsey and Reed) and 2 award winners (Doresy, Maxwell; McKinnie, Outland) not exactly GOAT numbers
I actually think everyone one except maybe the 2 loss LSU team could hang with this team. In fact if they played the same year I think the '12 Tide and the '08 Gators would enter the match up as favorites. As for me, the 1995 Cornhuskers are the true untouchables of modern football.
ETA: If not for the BCS being all screwy, Miami SHOULD have played the AP #2 Oregon Ducks. Also, the #2 Tennessee Vols lost the SEC Title game (the ONLY year the SECCG upset the BCS contender) but oddly enough Nebraska stayed in despite losing the final game.... good god what a weird season that was.

Nebraska 1995 was the GOAT. Obliterated a very good Florida team for the title.

2011 Alabama or 2008 Florida. And I still don't think either of them beat Miami

2011 Alabama is the best Bama team in the Nick Saban era. 2012 Bama would have played it close though
Also, the '95 Huskers were better. The team that won the Natty 62-24 against Florida

It would be interesting to see what 2011 Alabama or LSU would do against them. It might end up being a 3-0 final

The only reason the SEC would have a chance is b/c Coker is on the other sideline. He just wasn't cut out to be the man at a school like that

The 2003 LSU defense would give them a run for their money.

2008 Florida would take a massive shite on that Miami team. I also think that Upshaw would eat Dorsey. But, just my opinion.

08 Florida
06 Lsu
11 Bama
12 Bama
10 Auburn
04 Auburn
Would all likely beat 01 Miami. The rest would give them a good game and have a 50/50 shot at them.

They were unstoppable during the 2nd half of that season, but a home loss to Ole Miss takes them out of the argument for me.

Well, I guess you could say which part of that Florida team you wanna use. But still. Most of the games they played they beat opponents by 40+ points and they were top 15 opponents too. I think if they did to Ole miss what they did to everyone else and not lost that entire season, they would be in talks with Nebraska 95. Probably just talking out of my arse at that point though :P
