1. KENTUCKY
The empire will bounce back in a major way next season. John Calipari has assembled arguably the greatest recruiting class in the history of college basketball, and the leftover veterans from last year’s NIT team should benefit from another year of experience. Freshmen Andrew and Aaron Harrison will combine to form a potent perimeter along with 6-foot-6 lefty James Young. Highly-touted power forward Julius Randle is a lock to start at power forward and Dakari Johnson, Marcus Lee, Willie Cauley-Stein, Alex Poythress and Kyle Wiltjer will be ready to headline a loaded front court. Kentucky is back, and in a major way.
6. FLORIDA
The Gators will be freakishly athletic next season. Two high profile transfers – Dorian Finney-Smith (Virginia Tech) and Damontre Harris (South Carolina) — will join a seasoned front court trio of Patric Young, Casey Prather and Will Yeguete. Scottie Wilbekin returns at point guard along with sharpshooter Michael Frazier, who should take a major step forward as a sophomore. Freshmen floor general Kasey Hill should push for immediate minutes next to Wilbekin, while first-year power forward Chris Walker figures to also be a regular contributor in Florida’s rotation.
14. TENNESSEE
Keep an eye on this team. The Volunteers showed flashes of brilliance down the stretch in SEC play and will return every key piece from a unit that won 20 games this past season. Tennessee will get back All-SEC power forward Jeronne Maymon, who missed this past year with a knee injury. The Vols will also add two big-time prospects in freshmen Robert Hubbs and Darius Thompson, who could very well start for this team at point guard after Trae Golden’s departure. Jordan McRae, Jarnell Stokes and Josh Richardson all return, and should be three of the more seasoned players next year in the SEC. Cuonzo Martin has a real chance to do big things with this group.

Lose two-year starter at PG? Move up 5 spots.

The #2 (Michigan State), #4 (Louisville), #8 (North Carolina), and #17 (Baylor) teams are all in our OOC schedule too.

Convince the NCAA to let you play all your games in Bud Walton yet? Maybe Suitcase Mike can do it this year.

Actually glad to see this as from Rupp to Tubby the Cats have always been unafraid to play tough schedules. My issue is with Cal playing the good games away or neutral and playing crappy games in Rupp.
Michigan State - probable loss
Louisville - win
North Carolina - win
Baylor - high percentage win, probably beat them by double digits

Obviously in a year like last it hurts you because you end up dropping those games. But it'll set up great for this squad who will want an early benchmark of just exactly where they stand among top competition.

the Harrison twins are both thug POS, chemistry killers. UK has the talent to be number 1, but those guys are going to destroy the locker room. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Meh, if this happens, Cal will throw them under the bus during press conferences like he did Archie this year and the Kentucky fans will start talking about next year.
Cal Tradition #38

Fear. I smells it.

Until it happens, I will continue to believe chemistry is unattainable for this UK team. None of those guys are going to want to be role players all year

it's not fear. it's stating a legit concern. Few and Donovan didn't send them home from the USA U18 team because they weren't good enough. It was because they're headcases, and have a penchant for killing chemistry.

It was just a bunk rumor. He's returning for this season.

He's pretty damn good. Screw Darren Horn, I think we have had 5+ decent to great guys transfer in just the past 2-3 years. Off the top of my head, Damontre Harris (to FL), Anthony Gill (UVA I believe), Ramon Galloway (La Salle), & Murphy Holloway (Ole Miss). He left Martin with a lot of work to do.
As my great grandpappy used to say, "some times you have to make a mess to fix a mess."
If they transferred then they didn't wanna be here - I say good luck and good riddance. Frank Martin is gonna get it done with high quality prospects that want to be here.

Meh. They've all been getting along pretty well at the events they've played at (Jordan Brand, McDonald's AA, etc). People said the same thing about Wall and Co with DeMarcus Cousins coming in.
ETA: It's just funny to me that one down year is supposed to be the norm for Cal and everyone ignores the top guys that came in (and with egos at that) in the other 3 seasons he's coached at UK.
