Hanging out with"The Enemy" at The Beach is unique to SEC Culture

All Summer, we SEC Ballers (*cough cough) hang out at various beaches throughout the Gulf Coast. We wear our shirts and our hats and fly our flags. We check out each other's babes in bikinis. We might even share some beer or some food with one another. Our kids meet each other , spend a week with each other and keep up with each other on FB or Instagram. I wonder how many little Tigers or Dogs have fallen in love with little Vols or Rebels and vice versa during their HS/college years.
I think there is more affinity for each other than this board will acknowledge. I for one enjoy the beach repartee with my SEC brethren.I enjoy breaking bread and getting to know each other. And then Fall arrives and I hope that each and every one of you dies slowly in a fire.

Atlantic > Gulf
Too many rednecks drinking cheap beer on almost all parts of the Gulf until the bend south.

Hence the "SEC culture" referenced in the OP.
Don't go hating on the Redneck Riviera now...

Private Beach ftw. The last thing I need screwing up my vacation is a bunch of idiots.

When I was a kid we'd wait for hours to see The Snake stumble out of The Pink Pony Pub...

Lsupimp, I know what you mean. I've met several good people from Bama, Georgia, Tennessee, Vandy, Auburn, etc. It's always fun to mix it up with those folks.
I don't share food & beer with them, but any time I see em around the condo, I'll stop and say hi.

I can drink cheap beer when necessary as well. Hell, after the 3 rd one in the sun who cares. However, I don't like big congregations of rednecks. It usually ends with "Hold my beer and watch this shite".

Spent a lot of time at Neptune Beach and Jacksonville Beach when my brother lived in J'Ville and was extremely unimpressed. The Atlantic beaches are gross. The only + is the waves tended to be better. The stretch of Gulf beach from Orange Beach, AL to PCB, Florida is 1,000,000 nicer than any Atlantic Ocean beach I've ever been to. There may be more rednecks overall on the Gulf but there are plenty of rednecks on the Atlantic as well. The Destin/Sandestin/30-A area of Florida is as nice as anything the Atlantic side has to offer.
As for non-Southern visitors, I'd also add that the Gulf Coast tends to draw more down to earth Midwesterners instead of the obnoxious Northeasterners that the Atlantic Coast draws.

You are taking this too seriously I think. Of course Destin is nice. Also, while the Atlantic beach does not has the prettiest water most of the time, the beaches of the East Coast of FL do extend further south than Jacksonville. Beautiful water and beaches are up and down the coast.

I passed through Daytona in August a few years back. Talk about dead. I thought Biloxi was bad. Daytona was dreadful.

you can't make indictments on the atlantic based off of Jacksonvilles Beaches alone. Plus, you went to the wrong ones. I'd take folly beach over PCB or those other ones ya mentioned any day, dude

Who the hell would go to Daytona? Cocoa isn't bad in spots. In other spots though :yikes:.

PCB
in my opinion
Destin is great. PVB is nice though shelly. Ormond, Miami, Stuart, etc. Lots of nice Atlantic beaches.
Wait, how the hell did this turn into a beach bitch fest?
