Even after a brutal year, I love the move to the SEC. Playing in the best conference is the only way to give yourself a true measuring stick of where your program is. You can finish 2nd or 3rd in the Big 12, think you're all that, but in reality you're not. Playing in the SEC will force MU to improve and won't allow MU to exist on smoke and mirrors like they did in the Big 12.
Football was a disappointment in the first year. Tougher competition led to that first and foremost. Injuries compounded that and poor QB play just made it dreadful. Having said that, I'd still rather be playing UGA, UF and Bama or whomever and losing than playing Texas Tech and winning.
I didn't think basketball was as bad as some make out. There were a couple of road games we probably should have won but road games anywhere are difficult. The early exit from the tourney always sucks but it happens. At least they made the tourney.
Baseball was what I expected it to be. A combination of moving to the best baseball conference in country coupled with what is probably one of Mizzou's worst squads in over a decade was not a good recipe. The baseball coach has been and is on the hot seat and really needs to improve his recruiting first and foremost.
In the meantime, I've quickly become a college softball fan. About the only other thing Mizzou has to hang their hat on this year.
It's been a brutal year but I'd do it all over again given the option (and I'd still do it even if the Big 12 wasn't on the verge of imploding at the time of the move).

Speaking in overall terms, there's more of a feeling of brotherhood and cameraderie in the SEC than it ever was in the Big 12 or even the SWC.
Think of it this way in terms of world organizations:
SWC = Yugoslavia. Powder Keg. Only a matter of time until everything exploded.
Big 12 = EU. Formed to challenge the U.S. now largely irrelevant.
SEC = United States. Even with stupid leadership of its members from time to time, still the best place on earth.

Feels like Home! After living in Georgia for a year and doing business in Alabama I like the people, the food and the energy and the feel of the SEC much better. Id agree with some who say its more of a brotherhood and we all like to see the SEC win!!
The level of competition will bring all our programs up to the highest level. Although track & filed, tennis and golf are there sadly baseball & basketball have flopped. Hoping for better days ahead. 11-2 better than expected- Glad to be here!

Spending 30 years in Louisiana I grew up in the SEC. Never liked the big 12 when moving to Texas.
Biggest difference is the fans. Texas and Baylor will travel to College Station but that is about it. With the SEC, fans are here in town for every sport it seems.
I travelled to Ole Miss, Auburn and Alabama fornfootball and the fans treated us great. I would never dream of travelling to most big 12 cities.
While baseball was an eye opener, softball has really impressed me. Alabama was ranked #10 in the nation and was the 8th seed. WTF???? Eleven teams made the post season. Wow!!!

The SEC is a nice upgrade.
A&M won't be very competitive in men's basketball or baseball until we get coaching upgrades.

After living up north in VA for 12 years, I miss snow. I hope to see it within the next 10 years. I saw sleet in '10 and '11.
And actually the only time I ever saw snow fall on X-mas was driving back to NOLA from Bay St. Louis, MS in 04

And finished 3rd in the division with a rare player. Y'all had a great, but let's see more before we put you at the top of the SEC. Y'all were 1-2 against the 3 best teams in the SEC this past year.
