As long as the SEC dominates in recruiting year in and year out as a conference, your fan base will remain arrogant. Why shouldn't they?
Sports fans are arrogant by nature, at least the dedicated ones are. Fire the football coach, fire the basketball coach, fire the baseball coach; fire the batting instructor so we can lord over the other teams fan base.

The other 6, not much of an argument (well maybe 2007 with the 8 2 loss teams or whatever it was)
