Seems like some of the fanbase and media pool are beginning to think the SEC is invincible. Is humility no longer appropriate?

Until a team from another conference can prove they can beat the best team out of the SEC; I feel like it is completely justified.

College football is no place for humility. Other conferences constantly accuse the SEC of being arrogant, but they're all that way. Hell, the B1G is as arrogant as it gets.

I tend to think of our conference as having a chip on its shoulder that comes from decades of marginalization at the hands of the USCs, Notre Dames, and media who paid very little attention to what went on in the Southeast. Sometimes it comes off as arrogance, and plenty of SEC folks are arrogant even having little notion of that history. But I don't think we're special in being arrogant; we're just currently on top.

Confidence, arrogance who cares? I believe there is sufficient reason to be btw. No one believes it can stay this way, but if the way we act gets under the skin of OOC fans. I'm all for it.

Well judging by the draft and the national team recruiting rankings last year and this coming year, we are cementing our status at the top.

the sec has been way too arrogant for a while. just look at how people reacted when fricking miss state, lsu, and uf lost their bowl games. ESPN went ape shite. best conference? yes, but it isnt this unbeatable monster where the worst teams would challenge for conference championships in the other power conferences

Part of that stems from ESPN doing an informal conference champion/showdown point system (late 90's I think), pitting conference success against each other. Firmly taking root in the SEC, before this current run, is probably cultural. I've never heard a 'PAC 8' chant, SWC chant, Big 10 chant, etc. ever. ESPN is a pimp getting his harem to earn as much as as possible...and doing well at it.
Going into 2013 I don't see an SEC run at all, I see an UA run just like I saw in late seventies, Miami in late 80's, NU in mid 90's.

Arrogant...maybe. Misguided...definitely.
