I'll have to disagree with you. I think both UF & Bama would've gotten in the playoffs in 2008 & 2009, LSU & Bama in 2011, and Bama & UF last year. And I think that trend will continue going forward for the foreseeable future. Now there will be years were only one SEC team gets in, but that will be the exception and not the norm.

I am sure there will be times that could happen, but the polls may not be the sole deciding factor by the selection committee.

In 2008, while Bama had 2 losses, Florida, USC, Texas, and Boise St. had 1 loss, and Oklahoma and Penn St. also had 2 losses. Considering Florida beat Bama 31-20, I don't see Bama getting back into a playoff system.

In 2009 it might be a closer call, but again, by Florida losing to Bama by 19 points in the SEC C.G, I don't see Forida knocking out an undefeated Boise St. or Cincinnati team.

In these politically correct times with congressional hearings on why non-BCS teams are being treated unfairly, I think conference championship games are going to be looked at more and more as part of the playoff system; lose your conference championship game in regulation, and you are out--overtime losses for BCS teams is another thing.
