re: Cool interactions you have had with athletes or people involved in sports

I went to pick up a bite to eat on my lunch break a few years back so I went to the Subway around the corner from me. I pulled up and noticed this nice newer body Benz out front. I go in and walk up to place my order, look at the menu and then glance over my left shoulder and noticed a guy in a white tee shirt sitting by himself eating. I didn't pay much attention to him and turned back to tell the lady my order when it hit me. I did a double take and realized it was Fred Smoot sitting by himself. I placed my order, payed for my food and right about then he was finishing up eating. I walked over, shook his hand and told him how much I enjoyed watching him play. We talked for a few minutes about his future in the NFL(he had just been cut by the Redskins). He was a pretty cool guy, really easy to talk to.

eta: He invited me to go to some party on his boat but I had stuff going on that weekend. I told him I'd catch him on the next one but I don't think he's had anymore since then.
