Last year there was talk from Chris Relf's HS FBC that Dan Mullins had given negative reports to NFL teams during the draft process. I specifically remember him calling into Finebaum to complain

This year, as Jonathan Banks free falled I heard similar comments on the NFL Network re: work ethic, character concerns reported by his college coaches

I understand being honest about players but there were several tv segments, articles, ect stating would a great teammate, father, person Jonathan Banks was and yet when he falls out of the 1st round we learn that wasnt the case? What's going on in Starkvegas???

He fell because he had a bad combine, and guys like Rhodes and Trufant didn't. I like DJ Hayden, and I'm not saying anything bad about HIM or his incident, but if it wasn't for his incident people wouldn't have pushed him up their boards. I know someone is gonna twist that one way or another, but it's true, and it isn't fair to DJ to be honest.

Well State fans love to claim Mullen put Tebow in the NFL.
If you go by that, Malzahn has Cam and a few other players.

I understand about the bad combine but that does not necessarily equal poor work ethic throughout college career especially as the 2013 Thorpe Award winner (deserved or not)

Were you watching on ESPN? I don't remember Mayock and company on NFLN saying anything about work ethic, though maybe I just didn't hear it.

He was pissed because he wanted us to recruit one of his players last year. That became clear later in the same interview. The Relf stuff was bullshite. Did you watch him play QB? NO ONE was calling about him as a QB. Relf was so pissed off at us that he made it back to almost every home game this year.

bullshite. You just made that up -- and the hook is too shiny.

Maybe it has more to do with the fact that Banks is a FS stuck in a CB body? If he can gain 20 lbs, that's the position he will actually play in the NFL.

You forgot to mention what happened with Darius Slay's soaring draft stock -- from not initially getting invited to the senior bowl -- to almost cracking the first round. What about Fletcher Cox? Derek Sherrod? Conveniently left those off didn't you?

Malzahn does not want to play the "putting guys in the NFL as an assistant" game with Mullen...

Link to where Mullen negatively commented in any of his players to scouts?

Me thinks you are getting your butthurt ready for September and your desire to be our rival is really heating up

None of Mullen's quarterbacks pan out in the NFL.

I would imagine Banks' free fall had more to do with how he finished out the season rather than what Mullen "said" about him

That and his awful combine numbers. I'll never understand how he won the Thorpe Award. But Dee Milliner got sweet revenge.

Everyone seems to forget he was cheapshotted by that fricker from MTSU on the knee and it took him out for the season in a sense. He wasn't the same after that pickoff which ended in him being hurt

OM fans (you and sorantable) bitching about "staying on topic" and NFL players Mullen coached are making me chuckle.

Let's hate on Auburn together without letting your Draft wound bleed.

Maybe it was because after the MTSU game he started facing real talent. Not trying to start an argument, just giving you my and probably others opinion.

Is that the same three year period in which he picked off all the best QB's in the SEC plus Denard Robinson from Michigan and led or was second or third in conference play in interceptions? Was he so over rated that QBs would sooner chance throwing at slay's side who was drafted higher? Any downfall Banks was more about his size and durability than work ethic. All this dude wanted out of life since losing his parents in accidents was to own and take care of horses and make sure they had food, water and a pasture to run around in. ANY motherfricker who would say anything negative about Banks is a pathetic excuse for a human. His work ethic was better than most in the SEC
