Making her look like a nerdy librarian is a part of the defense strategy. When they have incriminating evidence that she was whiling out with her dude (while blonde) this is an attempt to downplay that image of her.
I'm sure she's alot cooler than this picture.

She may be cooler, but damn, I just can't figure out how she could be cool enough or hot enough to warrant a free pass on a murder trial. Some girls I can imagine that with, but this one?
