How exactly are you defining significant?

The most important player in college football. The most talked about, the most followed, the most revered, the one whose every moved is meticulously scrutinized, and the one whose spring game is covered by the four-letter network.

Now, give me an argument rebutting the presumption that the returning Heisman winner is the most significant player in college football.

What you just described is most popular. If most significant = most popular to you, then yes. Congrats. He is the most popular player in college football.

I'm sure you think Tebow is the most significant NFL player then.
