Is Savannah the most awesome city in the South??

I've been a couple times and always had a blast. My Grandfather's family immigrated/emigrated there, so I've always been curious & fond of it. I recently started reading a couple books about its history, and it truly is an amazing place.
So is it the coolest city/town in the south?
Honorable mention: Charleston, SC
Rule #1: you can't nominate a city in a state where you reside or where you're from.
Rule #2: you can't nominate New Orleans cause that's France, not the south.

Fairhope/Point Clear, AL- behind Charleston and Nola. Nashville, Austin, and Starkville are up there too.

Charleston would be my top pick, simply because it's a nice town from a tourist and regular perspective.
Savannah is the damn tits, though, once youve gotten past the touristy stuff. Gave Savannah a ton of consideration when I began job hunting late last year.

Yup gotta go with Charleston. Just a beautiful city with a lot of history like Savannah. Whoever mentioned Fairhope is spot on as well. Really cool little town.

The dream for me is get through law school > take La & Al bar > hang a shingle in Fairhope or small near in Baldwin County, but live in Fairhope.

Savannah > Charleston
No open container laws.
Charleston has prettier girls though. They have COC, we have scad. Both are nice but savannah parties much harder.

Since I live in Charleston I'll say Nashville.
But it's really Charleston.

Yeah, true. Little less culture, little less $$$, little less stuff to do. It would still make my top 5 southern cities, though.

I love Charleston. The city has a unique 'flavor' to it.
I'm going to break the rules and nominate Chattanooga, TN.
1. Lots of street festivals in the summer.
2. Large lake and river system for skiing and PWC.
3. Abundance of hiking trails and camping sites.
4. World class hang gliding
5. World class kayaking very close by (Ocoee).
6. Large Civil War battlefields of in the area.
7. Spelunking (caves)
8. Rock climbing and rappelling.
9. Tourist attractions galore.
Chattanooga is great for outdoors.
If you want to eat pot pie at Paula Deen's, go to Savannah.
