like 4 of the 5 landscape architect proposals didn't include new trees there. They all included redoing the corner to feature the Auburn University gates.

That has been my feeling from the start. Sure Updyke is a criminal and deserves his jail time, but what's the deal? Throwing toilet paper on a couple of trees is a revered tradition? What? This from an Aggie, with innumerable weird traditions.
