Im not saying he would have started, but at least been a contributing guy off the bench and now he's gone too.

Nope. Not with the bigs we have coming in next year.
He was most likely "encouraged" to leave.

His minutes would have been cut drastically next year with Clarke, Harris, Portis and Kingsley all in front of him.
