Coach Holbrook and the Gamecocks got another JUCO commitment today: Neosho County Community College infielder Jonah Bride announced on twitter he's coming to South Carolina:

I have committed to play baseball in the SEC at the University of South Carolina. Blessed to have this opportunity! #Gamecocks

Bride led Neosho County to a 42-16 record this season, hitting .471 in 58 games - all starts - with 14 HRs and 93 RBI in his first year with the team. Bride will join the Gamecocks as a sophomore and have 3 years to play.

TheBigSpur has a free article about Bride's commitment:

As a first-year player at Neosho C.C., Bride hit .471, which was the fourth-highest batting average in the country. He also had 93 RBIs, which was second in the country and was third nationally in doubles with 26 in his 58 games played.

As good as Bride’s numbers were offensively, he’s known primarily for his defense. He could play second base, shortstop or third base upon his arrival to campus.

Looks like this draft class is going to hold, pretty huge imo.

Nick Neidert went 60th overall, and he was really the only one that was going to be a for sure sign most likely.

Guys like Logan Allen, Chris Cullen and others have yet to get drafted, fantastic sign.

Also Schrock not being picked yet either is a huge get for next year, as long as it continues throughout Day 2.
