South Carolina received a commitment from class of 2018 catcher Charles Welch (St. Petersburg, Fla./Northside Christian) recently becoming the first member of that class. Welch was at the pitcher/catcher camp in January and was impressive to the coaching staff. He was offered shortly after the camp and it didn’t take long for him to commit. He stands 6-foot, 175 pounds and is a right-handed hitter.

There should be a handful of current commitments on campus on Sunday for the series finale against Clemson. Some of the players expected are:
2015s: INF Carlos Cortes, outfielder TJ Hopkins and RHP Nick Neidert.
2016s: RHP Sawyer Bridges.
2017s: INF Mason Streater.
