I've always thought that reducing the NBA playoff field would make the NBA regular season much more interesting. A 16 team playoff field is way too much. If there were only four or six teams making the playoffs from each conference, there would be a lot more urgency in the regular season. What purpose does it serve to have the Milwaukee Bucks make the playoffs this year? They have no shot at beating the Heat. Make the playoffs more exclusive and you will see the intensity of the competition go up.

Superb article by this man.

Good read. However, do you think that college football is decrying? Its not for the common man any longer. College football has become NFL minor leagues. All these neutral games being played in final fantasy venues like Jerry world is damaging college football. Its come to a point where people have to pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars to watch a meaningful game. For example, I will tell you know, the Bama tickets at Kyle field will be running at 500+ dollars just for nose bleed. Its ridiculous.
I really hope that college football does not lose its pageantry, but I am afraid it will soon enough

That's a good article. I agree completely. The regular season in college football is as good as it gets and is what makes college football unique. I don't mind the 4 team playoff and possibly 8 team playoff because I think you can still have these small elite team playoffs without sacrificing the everything is riding on it feel of college football regular season games. Any bigger playoff than that and the regular season will suffer.
