It kept him out all of the end of last year, summer ball and he had joined the team again this year but the problem has come back.

If you've never had them, you wouldn't understand.
They can be serious enough to put you on FMLA from work IRL.

Dale, what were his career stats? He was hell for hitters, I know that.

I had one when I was young. It woke me up and put me in tears. My dad had to give me Valium or something.
Thank god it was a one time thing. Seriously humbling.

That sucks. Wish the kid luck with whatever he ends up doing. There's nothing that can be done to alleviate the headaches? Never had them. Have heard people talk about how bad they are. Just don't think I ever heard of them ending a baseball career unless they were associated with some sort of concussion.

He had a surgery for migraines last year. That's how bad it was for him.

i know there's injections, but those seldom work, and sometimes a combo of pills can help, but theres not really any cure. my gf gets them, but they narrowed it down to a jaw problem. i get them occasionally, and usually want to eat a bullet until its over.

Your put on a daily regimen of medication to prevent them, but it really only cuts back the frequency. This is why his career would likely be over as just about all of them have warnings against physical activity, most when you read into is because of some form of lack of your body being able to self regulate your body heat like normal or you could go into cardiac arrest.
You still get them, instead of every day, it may be every other day or only a few times a week, until you get a combination of medication to "get it under control". You usually get some other medication to take when you get one, but you can only take that so often during a week without other side effects, so if your having them daily, you could only take meds for them like 4 times a week for example, you'll just have to suffer through 3 of them until the meds cycle out of your system, but some are not as bad as others so you don't have to take the meds for every one, some fricking suck, you just want to lock yourself into a dark quite room, and someone just talking too you is enough for you to want to rip their head off for aggravating you...
I'm not a neurologist, you'll just have to take my word on this...

Novacaine into the nerves back of your head and into your forhead, feels like bubble wrap popping after they are done, works for 50% of people the time it lasts varies.

Which Holiday Inn Express did you stay at last night?

I had one in school and had to lay my head down since the light made it twice as bad. Before I went home I threw up since the pain was so bad.

Feel bad for the kid. He was a really good pitcher too.

It pretty much is. Imagine the worst hangover you have ever had. Now imagine it lasting all day without easing up.

I never knew they could be that serious. I've never had one, but I always thought it was just a really intense headache.
Think of the worse hang over you've ever had, the pounding head ache, the nausea, then you know how your eyes hurt after you've been in a dark room then walk out side during a bright sunny day? That is just a lamp in a room, sound to your ears sounds like you have amps hooked up to them, everything is turned to 11. That would be the best way I could describe a mild migraine.
