Every SEC school has another FBS team in their state that isn't in the SEC. (except Missouri)

UGA
Plays GT every year

Florida
Plays Florida State every year
ETA: Playing Miami in 13

South Carolina
Plays Clemson every year

Kentucky
Last played Louisville in 12
Last played Western Kentucky in 12

LSU
Last played ULL in 09
Last played ULM in 10
Last played LA Tech in 09
Last played Tulane in 09

Tennessee
Last played Memphis in 10
Last played Middle Tennessee in 11

Vanderbilt
Last played Middle Tennessee in 05
Last played Memphis in 89

Mississippi State
Playing Southern Miss in 14

(to my knowledge)
Alabama has never played UAB or Troy
Auburn has never played Troy and hasn't played UAB since 96.
Ole Miss hasn't played Southern Miss since 1984.

Why are Alabama, Auburn, and Ole Miss scared of playing in-state opponents (that aren't in the SEC)?

Updated: From a popular question that keeps appearing, did Texas A&M leave their conference because of having to play in-state rival Texas every year?

It's not fear. The big schools have way less to gain from playing the smaller schools.

Frick UAB. That's why. Don't want to give the whiny little bitches the exposure.

UAB is one of the few schools that would cause me to pull for Auburn if they played.

I always heard that Southern Miss didn't want to travel to Oxford. Wanted the game in Jackson. I don't know if that is true or not. But if it is...frick Southern Miss.

UAT shouldn't do anything for UAB until they stop blaming us for all their problems imho. Troy is ok.

We are opening the expanded stadium against USM in 2014 -- and playing them in 2015 in Hattie as well. Agreeing to a simple home and home was the worst decision made under Greg Byrne at MSU...

Already, USM's financial situation has them discussing selling the game back to us or placing it in Jackson, where they can make more $$(higher capacity)...

WHy would LSU not want another SEC team from the State of Louisiana? I bet SC doesn't want Clemson in the SEC. I bet UF doesn't want FSU or Miami. I bet UGA doesn't want Tech back.

When you LSU pussies actually have an in state rival or better yet, an in state SEC rival, give me a call...until then, go frick yourself.

Ole Miss scared to play Southern?

There's no reason for us to play them. There's nothing for us to gain by playing them. If we win, nothing changes and everyone says "Oh well that was expected." They win and it's
OMGZ SOUTHERN BEAT OLE MISS!!!" and it has a slight affect on recruiting in the state with a few players.
Southern has nothing to lose and everything to gain by playing Ole Miss and State. Ole Miss and State have nothing to gain and everything to lose by playing Southern.

ETA: I hope State beats Southern Miss by 70.

Also, Ole Miss has agreed to play Southern Miss before but only in Oxford and they didn't take it.
Why should an SEC school EVER travel to a C-USA school to play a football game?
