I love Oklahoma Joe's in KCK

Good place.

I travel a ton for work. I've had NC, Memphis, Texas, KC, SC, etc. To me it's apples and oranges. KC and Texas are mostly beef BBQ. The others are pork. For pork BBQ, imho, it's NC and then everything else is a distant 2nd.

And B's BBQ in Greenville, NC is probably the best I've had in NC.

Grew up in middle Ga. on White Diamond BBQ, which was a white cinder block shack. They had a mustard based bbq which was pretty good, but they're Brunswick Stew was amazing. Thing about Ga. is there are many styles, so lot's to choose from. I live in Boulder now and have two good choices. Moe's BBQ are a bunch of Alabama boys who are starting to build a nice little pig empire and Georgia Boy's BBQ in Longmont is fricking awesome. They teamed up with a guy from Baton Rouge who runs the kitchen so they have some good Cajun specials thrown in. Food is awesome, music is awesome, sweet tea is awesome, and they have Mexican Coke with real sugar. They also have all the sauces; mustard, vinegar mop sauce, sweet tomato based, and a ghost pepper sweet sauce that is incredible. Their burnt ends are great, but pork is bbq. Sorry Texans.

Also, when you're talking about NC bbq, you have two styles, eastern and western. Eastern is whole hog with vinegar based sauce. Western is shoulder with a tomato based sauce. SC is the mustard based region.
