It was rumored that Sherman & Byrne(AD)weren't too fond of playing against SEC competition. whether that factored into their firing or not,we got rid of both.

One of the MANY reasons he was fired was that he publicly spoke AGAINST the move to the SEC even after it was announced.

Sherman was fired because he combined a 6-6 season with disagreement about the move to the SEC.
