Any regrets joining the SEC, Aggies?

Not a flame, just an observation on how 2012 turned out.
Big 12 was weak, and you could have ran the table. Decent chance at being 12-0, and as we saw you could play with Bama in a one-game scenario. More than likely, you would have smoked Notre Dame had that been the matchup. This could have been your dream season.
However, instead you played in the SEC. Beating Bama was nice, but you also got LSU and Florida, 2 other elite-level teams, and ended up 1-2 against the big 3 you played (ironically losing both home games).
So, looking back, are you wishing it'd been 1 more year? Most of the time, "might have been" is pointless, but in this case, it's got some value.

If the jump to the SEC isn't made, then Byrne is still the athletic director, Sherman isn't fired, Sumlin and Kingsbury aren't brought in, and Manziel doesn't start.
Dumb thread is dumb.

I am sure posts like the OP give them second thoughts

What makes you think that an undefeated aTm from the Big 12 would've got to the BCSCG over an undefeated ND & and undefeated Bama (since Bama & aTm wouldn't have played, Bama most likely would've have a loss)?

- We would have been demoralized having to play last year in the big whatever
- We matched up worst against prolific pass offenses
- We wouldn't have gotten the ranking boost from beating SEC teams

I had to check the date this was posted to make sure this wasnt one of the older threads covering this topic almost word for word.
This question is extremely short-sighted. No aggie has any regrets about joining the SEC.

In one year.... this will be a great and relevant thread when that Aggie azz has been spanked up, down, over and back again.

No regrets, were gonna be champs next year anyways.

we would have had 1 loss somewhere in that Big12 Sched.

Contrary to what non-SEC people say, playing in the SEC against tough opponents week in and week out does make you better

False. It NEVER has value.

Had we not joined the SEC, Bama would have been undefeated and even had we gone 12-0 we wouldnt have played for the title.
So yes, I'm glad we joined. 11-2 in the SEC is better than 12-1 or 13-0 in the Big XII without a national title.

I know in the SEC we like to jerk each other off and say "we play big boy football," but there are some offenses in the big12 that would have exploited the ATM defense.

Not me. Wouldn't have met Lat otherwise.
Isn't that right, Lat?

I don't think Aggie would've gone 12-0. I think they would've lost to Texas.

I regret we didn't do it sooner.

I agree with everyone else that says A&M would not have won the Natty last year so it is a moot point. That said, even making the assumption A&M would have won a NC I would still rather be in the SEC. A NC last year would have been great but not at the cost of the opportunity we have in the SEC where we could legitimately have a shot at several over the next couple of decades.
The college football world has drastically shifted and is getting even more unbalanced. The SEC is going to move from being the best college conference to basically being NFL lite where it is a real story whenever any of the Top 8 to 10 teams lose OOC at all. It already pretty much is. The money, publicity, and ability to be the only SEC team in Texas is just a huge advantage longterm compared to staying in the Big 12. That schedule was also just depressing. Ever done a road trip to Lawrence, Kansas or Stillwater, OK?
It was a 100 year decision, no regrets at all.
