@AdamSchefter:

Saints announced they signed TE Ben Watson to a three-year deal.

Watson comes over to the Saints after three seasons with the Cleveland Browns. Last year he started 14 games and caught 49 passes for 501 yards and three touchdowns. The former New England Patriot first-round pick fills a need at the tight end position after David Thomas was let go after a season where he struggled with a concussion.

Will he be 2nd string?? I thought Jimmy Graham was pretty good....

Probably backup and used in a 2 tight end set. This will probably be the final move in his career.

He was the last very good TE at GA.

Leonard Pope disagrees.

All-SEC Orson Charles? Semifinalist for whatever the tight end award is?

Even Arthur Lynch was top 5 on the roster for receptions last year, the son of a bitch even threw a pass on a trick play, complete for a touchdown.

He might be the best white tight end the SEC has ever seen. I expect great things from him in 2012.
