I think some of it is bad luck. Tenn and Bama had injuries at bad times, leading to really bad perception of the conference. Basically the SEC needs to schedule tougher OOC games and actually win them.

Alabama use to get great players on a regular basis: Robert Horry, Reginald King, Leon Dpuglas, Ennis Whatley, Derrick McKey, Buck Johnson, James Robinson, Antonio McDyess, Latrell Sprewell, Mo Williams, Gerald Wallace, etc, etc. We use to put tons of players in the NBA but hardly ever have players drafted anymore.
