not sure but he got a pay raise either last year or the year before. i want to say 930k or 960k, I think it is because he just became fully vested in the state retirement, so he will continue to earn those big bucks that you as a resident of Alabama will pay for

Okay, that makes more sense.
Damn, that guy probably has an I.Q. of 160

not AD for life, but paid like an AD for life. I think the spouse gets it or a percentage if he dies, for the rest of her life as well
ETA: part of the reason people suspect he will be stepping down soon. I think it all depends on Gougue(sp?) though

I'm going to sponsor a bill that states that he must remain as AD to get AD pay.
HB41-14 is being drafted as we speak.

1. Florida- Jermy Foley $1,233,250
Well-earned.
quote:
2. Arkansas- Jeff Long $903,900
Um. Guess he's doing the best he can with what he has to work with?
quote:
3. Tennessee- Dave Hart, Jr. $817,250
Not delivering much bang for the buck.
quote:
4. Texas A&M- Eric Hyman $800,000
Worth it.
quote:
5. LSU- Joe Alleva $725,000
His two big hires have been Trent Johnson and Johnny Jones. One was a bust, and the other is looking good in his first year, too early to tell. Utterly impotent when representing LSU's interests to the SEC. Has publicly stated LSU's official position in football that it's not about winning championships, but "being in the hunt" to win championships, whatever the frick that means. Overpaid.

6. South Carolina- Ray Tanner $675,000
Baseball coach is the AD? Or is he no longer the baseball coach? Whoever heard of promoting the baseball coach to athletic director? Wait...never mind.
quote:
7. Missouri- Mike Alden $674,317
If he's not personally building the addition to the football stadium with his bare hands, then...
quote:
8. Kentucky- Mitch Barnhart $654,0000
A bargain, if he can find a football coach.
quote:
9. Auburn- Jay Jacobs $615,000
quote:
10. Alabama- Mal Moore $600,500
Has done a crappy job in most respects, but he got Saban, and that's all that matters.
quote:
11. Georgia- Greg McGarity $525,000
Maybe a bit underpaid, in light of the others.
quote:
12. Mississippi State- Scott Stricklin $450,000
Basketball has flourished in his tenure.
quote:
13. Ole Miss- Ross Bjork $400,000
If Freeze works out, they are going to have give this guy a raise.

Bama AD salary is shocking but Saban does call the shots and could probably fire the AD if he wanted to.
$1 million salaries for AD's are getting pretty steep.
The trend of college athletics will eventually price out the average fan and that will be a sad day for SEC athletics.

We definitely get the most of our money.

Foley had a huge gap between him and everyone else when he got the deal a few years ago, now people are starting to catch up to him. He is worth every penny, and I wouldn't care if we paid him quite a bit more.
