The fact that it was an Alabama fan that poisoned the trees and was proud of it, is what made Auburn so pissed/emotional. Had it just been some random prick, or had the trees died on their own it wouldn't have been the three ring circus story that it became.

That is true. If they were blown over and replaced, it wouldn't bother them.

I'll agree with that to an extent.
It certainly doesn't help that he went on Finebaum after he had been charged and apologized to "Bama Nation" for what he had done to them.
