I should rephrase. Mizzou backed out of talks with the Big 10 after finding out they would only be junior members.

Sorry B1G homers in this thread your conference came to us first and we didn't want junior membership. Nebraskas AD could handle the financial hit so they accepted out sloppy seconds. (Have heard this from a board of regent) At that point Mizzou just wanted out of the big bevo so badly and the SEC gave us our lifeboat.
I think we are forever grateful to be where we are and would be amazed to see us elsewhere. Don't know this part for a fact but supposedly before Maryland and Rutgers got the invite for 13 and 14 our AD was contacted and we told Delaney we are happy where we are
