Notre fricking overrated has-been, going-the-way-of -Harvard and Yale, Dame. Unless you are telling me they belonged in the MNC game and have otherwise done JACK shite in the last 20 years.

ND is still a top job, although it is slipping a little.

The Kentucky job is ranked over the Mississippi State job.

Just wanted to point out the credibility of this ranking.

Kentucky football will never be relevant. To it's own university or the rest of the world.

I'm not a Notre Dame fan at all but they deserve to be in the top 10 imo. Its an elite job if they have the right coach. They've been going through the same thing for the last 15 years that A&M fans have been claiming as well. Terrible head coaching hires. They shouldn't have been in the MNC this year but Kelly is definitely upgrading their talent level over what it has been for the last decade.

I would argue that the list is not about where the program is right now, nor is it about where it's been over the last several decades. I take this list to be about the "ceiling" for a program. And the ceiling for ND is still very high, from a "would I like to coach there" standpoint?

Consider this...what great coach would not want the built-in advantages of coaching at ND? Soft schedule due to independent status; National brand capable of getting you into any 5* recruit's living room from coast to coast; your own tv network; rules made only for you that lower the bar for you to get into BCS games; wealthy and influential alums/donors who will give you anything you ask for.

I'm not a ND fan. In fact, I hope they lose every game they ever play. But their ceiling on this list is way up there.

Arkansas is a little lower on this list than I would have put them. I believe we are becoming a destination job because our AD is doing the things that must be done to make it that way. He's paying coaches and assistants what he should. I love that Bielema has been able to fight off schools who have come wanting to poach our assistants. It tells me (a) we have a staff of guys who are coveted by elite programs; and (b) we are willing to pay to keep them here. That's a great start. Our facilities are top-notch and we are showing that we are willing to continue to invest in them in order to keep up. Like an Aggie poster mentioned, we lack the depth of in-state and regional talent to sustain a program. We will have to find those "pipelines" like the ones out of Miami that may be developing. Keeping what D-1 talent we grow locally is another essential. And finally, we can't afford to miss on our flying leaps. Gotta be able to develop those guys into contributors.
