Seems to be the top conference in yet another sport w/ 5 teams posting 20 or more wins. Also, 5 ranked teams lead all conferences.
(8) Tennessee 13-1, 22-5
(10) Kentucky 11-3, 23-4
(11) Georgia 11-3, 23-4
(13) Texas A&M 11-3, 21-7
(14) South Carolina 10-4, 22-5

Not even close. ACC, Big East, and maybe Pac 12 are all better..and all the SEC top teams are behind the WBB elites.

That natty is going to go through Baylor, Stanford, for UConn
Maybe one of our squads can do it.

No just a disagreement...going back and fourth is an argument.

Women's B-Ball sucks
There's only 3 good teams and they dominate everyone else

Not trying to make the observation that you do not follow women's basketball but....
#1 SEC dominates with both # of teams and appearances in the Final Four
#2 Big East is in 2nd place but are losing everybody but Uconn
#3 PAC is in 3rd place but they are really just Stanford (USC won in the 1980's with Cheryl Miller)
#4 Big 12 is in 4th place and has reasonable depth of teams
#5 The Field dominated early and the La Tech tree is now at Baylor
#6 ACC is in 6th place as they not only don't get to the dance, but they do not win it
#7 B1G is dead last and most of their success is just Purdue

Just wait 'til Jeremy Foley decides to get serious about women's hoops. SEC fuuuuucked.

I really didn't but thanks for the effort.
and WBB will probably forever be dominated by the already established select powers

Meh, if you're not at or around the top in women's bball you're outta luck. There aren't enough good players to go around.

quote:Maybe. USC had its best year ever and made it to the Sweet 16 losing to #1 seed Stanford in Fresno, CA. This year we hosted them an lost by 3 earlier in the year. We might not get further than the Sweet 16 this year (if that far) but with a HOF coach in Dawn Staley, we have a shot to keep making deep runs in the tourny.

Had Kelcey Bone not transferred to A&M, SC would have to be favored to make the final four this year with the guards they have.
As it is, SC is loaded with talented freshmen. Bring in the class already committed for next year with the two big girls to go along with what is returning, and SC will win a NC soon enough ... Dawn Staley is flat-out getting it done here. It's been amazing to watch. She is incredible.

LSU has been historically good and USC and UK not. Think of Pat as Rupp and Geno as Wooden. We are entering the next phase where new programs will arise and old programs will not have the same dominance.
