Slay had more action on his side due to Banks this year.. He has steadily improved. Banks had a great game against TN, then was slightly injured. These factors added to him doing a victory lap year after all the early entry possibility draft talk may have ended up biting him.
I agree on Slay being possibly the better consistent coverage guy, but either way Jonathan Banks has given MSU some awestriking games..

I will never get over the interception this year from behind / over the head of the receiver.. His ball skills are second to none. Jameon Lewis can muff more return kicks in one game than Banks his whole career.

Banks improved his broad jump to 10'6" today at the Pro Day.

I hope his 40 time gets out. If he drops significantly, I'm sure they will tweet about it.
