Wichita area started getting snow early yesterday morning. Fell steadily until about 3pm, accumulation 6 to 8 inches. Started up again after midnight with lighting and thunder, new accumulation another 6 to 8 inches. Every school and most government non essential offices closed.
Actually very pretty, and we who don't have to leave the house are enjoying the beauty. Repeatedly clearing off deck area where we have created a bird sanctuary. Dozens of song birds have settled in our trees and have come to entertain us as they feed off seeds and grain that we replenish several times a day.
You warm weather folks may no believe it, but I would miss this winter beauty, if not able to experience at least a couple times a year.
