You think the media gives Bama grace on oversigning?

If I am not mistaken, that was actually Jay Jacobs policy and Chizik followed suit. UF did the same as well. To be honest, I dont think anyone heard it from either side(UF or AU) this year.

It is amazing that amongst all this discussion, it has gone unmentioned that we might not have heard from UF, AU, or others regarding 4 year scholarships, but we have indeed heard from Nick Saban and and Nick says Alabama is giving 4 year scholarships.

They say Nick skirts the rules about contact with recruits, but Nick signs big classes and still wins.

They say Nick oversigns, so the SEC passes a 25 limit - but Nick still wins.

They say Nick doesn't care about his players and only gives 1 year scholarships, so Nick starts giving four year scholarships and he's still going to win.

Let's just cut to the heart. Nick wins, right now he wins more than anyone else, and all indications are that he will continue to do so for quite some time.

The linked story and several others turned up by Google say he started with this (2013) class.

I guess I'm having a moment? What am I missing?

The stories about Alabama's change are from the summer of 2012 and the question was asked if Gus or UF was giving 4 year deals and nobody knew. Since 2013 was Gus' first signing class, I felt it worth noting that this Alabama signing class got 4 year deals, which effectively guts the argument that Nick gives 1 year schollys so he can better manage the roster.
