Most big time programs schedule 1 quality OOC opponent and 3 cupcakes. I don't like it either, but we're not doing anything that our peers aren't doing.

Well Colorado St is on the schedule for obvious reasons but you definitely shouldn't have two FCS teams on your schedule if you've won three NC's in the last four years.

Look, you don't understand. Saban is thinking about A&M RIGHT NOW. He will have you figured out and he will destroy you in front of your own fans. Bama is going to be filthy next year and every bit of energy will be focused on beating A&M. I actually feel sorry for you. It won't be pretty.

But, LSU will be doing the same thing regarding Alabama. Bama has won 2 in a row and Saban will know how dangerous it will be but he won't be able to sufficiently get it through to his team.

Georgia State counts as FBS this year (though they are still technically in transition until '14)

Bamas schedule is a joke...period. F'ing Slive must be at the Tuscaloosa Country Club a lot lately.

Ita a tainted ticket punched if they go to Hotlanta again...which they might with that joke of a schedule.

According to Phil Steele, A&M has the least amount of starters returning in the SEC. I think they'll be good, but won't sneak up on teams like they did last year. Sumlin brought somewhat of a different style into the League, but Manziel coming out of nowhere is what did the trick.

but but but...LSU lost so many juniors!!!

btw...bama lost more starters than LSU as well.
LSU owns BDS...so that win is a given.
A&M couldn't beat LSU in college station with a Heisman winner....they're not going to beat them in Death Valley with a egomaniac who'd rather party than watch game film and is going through a sophomore slump.

LSU goes undefeated on their way to another NC.

Steele's #'s are off on Arkansas at least. He says we only have 11 but in reality we have 14-16 starters returning depending on how you classify OT Brey Cook and DT Robert Thomas who both started on and off last year. I would be curious to see if he made similar mistakes with other teams.

The part the people don't realize is that LSU returns 14 of 22 starters. They just look at how many juniors LSU lost and assume that the team was decimated. If all of the juniors had come back, LSU returns 20 of 22 starters and is consensus #1 in the preseason. That's how young the 2011 team was last year.

Even with that youth in 2011, LSU was also VERY young last year. Injuries decimated the team. By mid season, only 9 of the 22 starters from the national championship game January 9th were starting - that was BEFORE the Alabama game where LSU lost 21-17. It was plug and play all season, especially on the offensive line.

Losing Montgomery, Mingo, Brockers, Minter, and Reid will hurt. They were all juniors and it would have been great to get them back. But, there are guys who have been waiting to step in - all highly recruited, very talented, and also with a good bit of experience - guys like Ego Ferguson, Jemauria Rasco, Danielle Hunter, Debo Jones, Tahj Jones, Quentin Thomas, Justin Maclin, and Ronald Martin. All of these guys are more are just waiting to step in on defense and get more playing time and they are really good. They will be known after this year.

I am not saying that LSU will win the whole thing. But, they will be in every game and will have a chance to win every one. People saying that LSU will go 6-6 or 7-5 are just flaming and don't know what they are talking about. This team will be REALLY talented. Young and raw so mistakes will be made a game or two will likely be lost that would have been won if the juniors had come back. But, the team will be formidable.

Alabama has the easiest schedule mainly because that don't have to play Alabama

Same with Georgia.

If Alabama does not win the national title again next year, how big of a fail is it? How big of a disappointment? Pretty huge, I would say.

It really isn't that big of a fail when you consider the fact no one has ever threepeated in the history of modern college football. Back-to-back national championships was more than I ever hoped for.

No. Alabama has the easiest schedule because they will play 2 ranked teams all season long. 2 out of 12 games. And, they play in the SEC West. Let that sink in for a moment.

Now, it is possible that an Ole Miss or Miss. St. might be ranked in the low teens or 20's when they play Alabama, but that will be more a function of Arkansas and Auburn being down than anything. Auburn might have a decent season, but by the time they play Bama, they will not be ranked even though they might be headed for a bowl game.

It is a an abysmal schedule.

But, Alabama should have a great team nonetheless. It is just a shame that we will only see them even challenged one time all year.
