If a student buys a ticket just load it on their ID card and have it scanned at the gate. No student should get a ticket for $5 and be allowed to scalp it for $40 or more.
I also like the idea of cutting student ticket numbers to prior uears average student attendance.
When I was in school football tix were a dollar and it was first come on seats. There were fools in the stadium 4 hours before a game drinking and the fights and cursing was unreal by gametime.

I think this or a 2-3 strike policy are the best way to make sure kids that actually want to go to the game, get to go. Then the rest, the ones that could care less to begin with, will stop getting tickets unless they actually plan on attending, and the AD could make more money by moving those left over tickets into the general pool.
I only say the no id card deal because I had family members back in the day that would get tickets for everyone in the family that could pass as a student age person and save everyone money. I was never a beneficiary of that, as by the time I was old enough to "pass" as a college age kid they had long since done away with that system. But I would agree, I don't want them scalping those tickets.

quote:That's what they do now. And that's why it's empty: students have no motivation to give away their tickets if they are going to miss the game so the ticket goes unused. If they were scalpable, people would do that.
