Who is or isn't "legendary" doesn't matter. What matters is that if Lacy goes 1st RB off the board then Bama will be the current running back U and it would be hard to dispute it. Yeldon promises to be just as good, if not better than the previous three, and Henry could very well be TJ's successor (although I think Tenpenny will be his greatest obstacle in his class).

Tyren Jones will be processed and Kamara will be a slot WR.

Who will be the next Alabama RB to be featured on the SI Cover?

2013 Eddie Lacy

2012 Eddie Lacy

2011 Trent Richardson

2010 Trent Richardson

2009 Mark Ingram

2008 Glen Coffee

TJ will be next.

It's a process.

My personal thoughts are Jones was the top RB of the class. However his wheels might need a tune up after having been pushed the way he was in HS. No RB should ever have 57 carries in a game. It's such a short lifespan for that position

I doubt Tyren Jones gets processed.

I like Tenpenny and Henry more. Nothing against the kid. It's just a numbers game.

He could very well succeed but I think the others have an advantage in being more ready at the moment.

Is Eddie Lacey really considered "legendary?"

He is on the same level as the Bama back who used to do the Fred Sanford when he would score a TD. The one when they beat Miami in the NC. A very good back running behind a very very good line. Lacy may have more impact in the NFL because of his size but he isn't "legendary"

Wasn't that Derrick Lassic?

Derrick Lassic was an average back playing behind a very good offensive line. He saved his best performance for last, however, and made it count when it mattered the most. Lassic didn't even break the 1,000 yard mark for his CAREER until midway through his senior season in 1992. Had Lacy come back for his senior season he would have had a chance to break Alabama's career rushing record set by Shaun Alexander in 1999. And that's with Lacy playing in a multi-back system while Alexander was the featured back throughout his career in Tuscaloosa.

And it's hard to argue against Alabama being the current Running Back U. Since 2008, Alabama has had multiple backs go over 1,000 yards on the season:

Glen Coffee
Mark Ingram
Trent Richardson
Eddie Lacy
TJ Yeldon

That's five backs in five seasons. Pretty impressive.

Tyren Jones is an animal. He's got 5th gear football speed. Easily my favorite back in this class. The best players will play, and if they can all play and bring something to the table then they will

I think Lacy certainly did some legendary stuff while he was here. He had numerous insane runs. Winning the MVP of the SECCG and the NC game, back to back? I dont think many people have done that. I think he is better than MI.

Yeah, another Bama RB that made the cover of Sports Illustrated.

Henry appears to be the biggest kid on that team. Who the hell blocked for him?
