I'd take Chavis back in a heartbeat

Tenn is stupid for not offering him the HC position.

Chavis is worth every penny LSU pays him. Will reserve judgement on the new OC till I see him coach several big SEC games...

This will have great success in your attempt to get Bama bites

Pump the brakes.
The dude couldn't even utilize Baltimore's best offensive weapon, Ray Rice.

Still gotta go through the HC.

How soon "3rd and chavis" has been forgotten.

And then there's the HC.

Chavis needs far superior talent to dominate imho. When he was at Tennessee he won with superior talent just like he's doing in Baton Rouge. When Tennessee started to play teams with equal talent, that's when "third and Chavis" started. I don't think he's an X's and O's genius or anything he just does well with better players.

I think Chavis is top 3 on average in college football. Cam has yet to be seen.
I call that rationalism

Everyone knows that coaching and recruiting = success in CFB.
LSU's performance in these vital areas:
Offensive Coordinator Rank: 1
Defensive Coordinator Rank: 1
Head Coach Rank: 1b
Recruiting Rank: 1b
LSU stacked
League fricked

i was a big fan of Chavis until he let Clemson beat LSU in the Chick-Fil-A bowl. the formula for shutting down the Chad Morris offense was well known, but Chavis didn't follow it. I concede LSU had better defensive talent than SC, especially at DB, but Chavis let the LSU defense get exposed to a cracker-jack offense.

No question, it appears LSU has assembled the best coaching staff in the country. If not the best, definitely one of the Top3-5.
OC + DC is without a doubt the best tandem - on paper - in the SEC. Both are a great fit in the Miles system as well.

Anyone else notice that any thread about this new hire goes 4, 5, 6, pages plus? The fear is obvious and I'm loving it

The best OC and DC in the country can't make up for their "special" HC.
