I'd rather Bateman not redshirt if he is going to be the future QB next year. Would like to see him get some real game experience in mop up duty.

Yeah I would be surprised if Cooper Bateman RS. If he is as good as he is supposed to be, he'll play some this season. I pretty much already view him as #2 behind AJ, given the competition.

I personally would like to see Blake Sims as the backup QB in case A.J. gets hurt but have Bateman get all the snaps in clean-up duty and blowouts. Have him play a half against the likes of Georgia State and UT-Chattanooga to get him ready for 2014.
