His mom doesn't want a job.
If she wanted a job she would go get one. Right now she is weighing State assistance for life, or ride the Collins Gravy Train.
She sure as frick didn't mind donating him to another home in High School.

Sorta. Hubby called his Dr. this morning, because he thinks he has a respiratory infection. But when he said he was having shortness of breath, Dr. sent him to ER. So I'm sitting here with him in the ER, reading all the drama with a sketchy internet connection.

I don't know every detail of their situation, just know from other similar instances, this a case of a pay check coming and you want to keep it close otherwise you may not be in on it when it is cashed.
Biggest fear of the clingers, GFs, family, etc. they want to keep that check close. Arkansas is too far away, too big of a risk of someone getting their thoughts straight over a 3-4 year period...

Richard Davenport: I think Alex stays with Arkansas but no guarantees. To be honest I would be surprised if he did switch.

In a National Signing Day surprise, South Plantation star running back Alex Collins did not sign with the University of Arkansas as planned Wednesday morning and was absent from the school’s signing ceremony.
South Plantation athletic director Mike Collins was vague about Alex Collins’ absence, but noted “more due diligence needs to be done on the family’s side of things,” and confirmed that the running back had not signed a national letter-of-intent with any college.
“We’re going to give the family as much time as they need to make the right decision,” Mike Collins told the South Florida Sun Sentinel. “At this time there’s no indication of anything other than the original plan. The family just wants more time.”
Collins, a five-star recruit rated the nation’s No. 1 running back by 247Sports.com, announced Monday night on live television on Fox Sports South that he had chosen to sign with Arkansas over Miami, Florida State, Florida and Wisconsin.
A placard with his name on it was set up on the table at South Plantation’s signing ceremony, but it was removed just before the start of the ceremony.
