Oh get the hell out of here with that. I'll give Peyton his due for being an all-time great QB and one of the top two of his era, but he's not in the running for greatest player ever.

Snake, Archie Who and the Ruston Rifle are all worthy, esp. Stabler.
If Archie and Bert had not had careers cut short by injury and/or had won at least some kind of championship or at least some playoff games - maybe.
Peyton, Brady and Brees are future locks, Eli has a great chance as he still has more years. Ditto Stafford.
