I actually wouldn't have cared so much if Tunsil hadn't been so effing pro-UGA that he scared off several other 4* OTs... Pulling that nonsense at the last minute is just a dick move. I still haven't seen legit confirmation one way or the other regarding the scholarships but there is a LOT of chatter and talk about the University trying to throw Freeze under the bus if it comes down to it. We have enough to worry about with Saban stealin the croots... can't be havin' the NKOTB trying to pull some shenanigans.

Right now, I am about 50/50 on it honestly. I'm not sure anyone could "100%" guarantee it either way unless you're really Freeze or you were at least there for the conversations. No one ever believes their program did something way wrong until it comes out. Not saying it happened or didn't, just that it's difficult to remain unbiased when you have skin in the game (from either side.)

At the end of the day, the timing is really all that bothers me about it. I feel good about the O-line we're bringing back, just wish we would have known earlier so we could have spent the time on other talent. As is, we'll be left holding our dicks and won't have a full 85 scholarshipped players in all likelihood.

Here is my take on that situation and others like it (recruit is down to schools A and B, but school C comes out of left field to take the lead in the 11th hour):

9 times out of 10 something shady went down either on the part of the recruit or on the part of school C, provided there are no issues with grades. The other 10% of the time, it's because school A and B are something like South Alabama and Jacksonville State and school C is say, Clemson. 2 years of relationship building and numerous trips to campus just doesn't get thrown out the window after 1 visit and a month of recruiting. It just doesn't happen like that. That isn't how recruiting goes. It's 99% relationship building. The schools who get on kids early are almost always the ones who end up landing them, with the exception of late bloomers who suddenly pick up a bunch of major offers after their senior season. Any time you see a program come out of left field for a kid who has been heavily recruited by the big boys for a long time, it should raise some red flags.
