Why? There's already familiarity and a body of work from 2007-2010.

I'm not I know we were all stoked about YawYaw but not sure how much truth there was to him taking any other job but a DC at least

Bo had better development especially with the 3 man front than even Orgeron has had

If we get Elam and get to see Frazier and A'Shawn along with the JuCo guys under Bo it will do them some good

I think Bo knew how to coach DL better that played a 3 man front than Rumph did and as a result we ran it more and were able to dedicate an extra guy to coverage

Nice attempt an looking for a silver lining but this hiring stinks.

If we let him go to get Rumph, how stupid does it look that we bring him back? All that tells me is we couldn't convince a better option to join or we made a poor decision letting Rumph go in the first place.

I just hope Bo can reel in Elam this weekend. He's got the history with Cody to attract a big NG in our system.

I can dig the hire. I'm just glad it's over with.

So we might lose Christian Miller because of Rumph leaving, and the best we get out of that is fricking Bo Davis? His DLine definitely stopped the run at Texas. Just ask BYU.

Yeah I'm not thrilled but how bad can he be if his last 4 jobs were Bama, Texas, USC, Bama

Texas was ranked #83 in rushing defense. I'd say that's pretty bad.

I don't disagree though it was usually very good when he was at Bama. Of course the same was true with Rumph.

UT was 7th in rush D in 2011 though. Texas had a shitload more going on with their D than the DL coach.

UTx was ranked #80 in rushing defense in 2012. #83 in 2013.

Damn this hire makes Greg Brown look like a good one.

Defensive line commit Joshua Frazier Tweeted out that he's confused with all the coaching changes.

Confused right now? Coach Davis just talked to me at USC 2 days ago.

Matt Elam's Army AA gear for sale on Ebay. Saw this on the SECRB.

Any problem with this?

He spent four seasons at Alabama from 2007-10 as one of Saban's original assistants when he came to Tuscaloosa in 2007. Alabama possessed one of the top run defenses when Davis left for Texas. info via email by Cliff Kirkpatric

If he is selling it, it would be a NCAA violation

I'm not worried about his time at Texas. I am more concerned with the fact that he is not really associates with quick athletic defensive linemen. We need some pass rushers & ends with enough speed to contain a QB. Could contain only works if you have enough lateral quickness.

Thought so. The person on the SECRB says he said he gave it to someone. Don't like this.

Where are you getting this. Jeffcoat and Reed were outstanding for Texas this year with 33 combined sacks. They might of had the best DE combo in the country. They 1st and 3rd on the team in tackles as well. Not to mention 41 TFL and 35 QBH. I would loved to had both of those guys this year as our DEs.
