There is alot of tatical stuff that I cannot discuss but Freeze has a plan that is very specific. He was instrumental in Ed's success at Ole Miss. People thought that O was the master recruiter because of his success at USC. Well Freeze actually put the plan to together at Ole Miss with Ed having final say.
I like what another poster said:
Perfect storm is a observation. True the Nkemdiche brothers were helpful but it took a great strategy to pull it off. Bottom line what separates us from the rest with all these 5 star recruits is that our coach is more personal than any other coach out there. He is genuine. He is very believable. He relates. He is relentless.

If it happens and we lose Tunsil I am not going to claim that Ole Miss is cheating. I have been around long enough to know that college football and the SEC go through cycles. Bama sucked not long ago, LSU sucked not long ago, we sucked under Ray Goof. Look at Tennessee. They won the BCS 12 years ago and looked unstoppable. Eventually the conference evolves and you are seeing it right now. Sumlin at TA&M and Freeze at Ole Miss. The perfect storm is brewing at Ole Miss. They have the right coach that is not going to leave, a system that kids want to play in, a fan base that is as passionate and enthusiastic as any about winning. The town is second to none in the SEC. The women are hot. It is the cool place to go right now. Freeze is a born leader and will have this team competing soon. It all starts with a spark and that was Denzel Nkemdiche. Give them credit and dont hate. I like Richt but would I rather have someone like Freeze that has united a fan base and makes the game fun again? Yes. Ole Miss is about to change the SEC. Deal with it

FWIW I don't believe there is cheating, which is why I started this thread. I wanted real insight into the recruiting to understand the upswing. You guys are providing it.

There's a lot of factors here:
1) Hugh Freeze is a heck of a recruiter. Does well with kids and family. Stay in contact with these kids as much as he can within NCAA guidelines. He's also one hell of a speaker.
2) The Nkemdiche brothers gave credibility to the program and are great recruiters for Ole Miss. Once they got Laquon Treadwell on board, they had two five star recruits trying to poach every other big name at the Under Armor game. The power of Laquon to convince kids to come to Ole Miss cannot be underestimated.
3) Going from 2-10 to 7-6 in one year and having the energy this Ole Miss team played with in every game definitely gave recruits something to think about.
4) Oxford is a great college town.
5) Almost every recruit that has visited has talked about the great family atmosphere at Ole Miss. It means quite a bit to young kids to feel like they are part of a family than out there on their own.
6) Our fans do such a good job in assisting with recruiting. They know the recruits by name and treat them like royalty when they visit. They each feel like celebrities in Oxford. Hell, Denzel Nkemdiche gets so many twitter pictures posted every day with fans in Oxford that it is ridiculous.
7) The coaching staff is full of guys who are great coaches and recruiters. Maurice Harris, Matt Luke, Chris Kiffin, Wesley McGriff, and Grant Heard all do a great job and these kids tend to like them quite a bit.
8) Other coaches likely did not take us seriously in recruiting this year until it was too late. They probably didn't spend the time trying to deep six our efforts, spending more time badmouthing the Bamas and LSUs of the world.
9) We have the best uniforms in college football. Duh!
10) Kids like bears.
