Couldn't agree more in terms of being realistic. It all depends on the mental disposition of the next guy to withstand AMPLE pressure. Well, that AND being a hell of a replacement coach.

Yeah you're right, and you just might find the right guy. We ALMOST have the right guy to go head-to-head with Saban and his Bama machine. Honestly, I don't know who would do any better than Miles has. Even though we get frustrated with him, who else would have LSU right there within a few plays of back-to-back national titles (except for the beatdown on 1/9 of course)?

You need someone who is his own man, who won't listen to the criticism and second guessing, who has a plan, who can recruit like crazy, and who can hire top notch assistants and stay positive all the time. You don't need a hot shot innovator or even a disciple of Saban. That is why I worry about Kirby Smart being the successor. No matter how well he is groomed in Saban's ways, he isn't Saban. He might be successful, (ala Muschamp and Fisher), but I wonder if it would work at Alabama?

Time will tell. But, you guys have it rolling now, that's for sure.

Whoever takes the job after Saban leaves will be nothing more than a sacrificial lamb. There's no way anyone's going to follow Saban to anyone's satisfaction. I am prepared for a massive fall off and everyone else should be too.
